Finally I have a computer that actually has enough power to video edit and just generally not freeze for no reason. I’m rather excited to start learning video editing to bring my friends on Oppo some awesome content.

So who has some pointers for me?

Here’s my new machine. Upgraded to a 1TB SSD and 16gb RAM, i7 processor.

Nice! What program will you be using?

Cool. I like pixelmator for photo editing. I don’t do much video work.

iMovie, and the official GoPro editing app. I’m using a GoPro Hero 4 silver and everyone seems to say the GP app is pretty solid. I want to try both and see what yields the best results.

With that being said, if anyone has a suggestion for a strong video editor I’m without a doubt open to it. I am new and eager to learn!

Is it rather intuitive to use?

Yes, kinda. If you know photoshop at all, it will be familiar. There are tutorials. You can find it on the Apple Store.

Very good information, I used to be a whiz with PS when I was younger, so I really need to brush up with that. I’ll check it out right now!

If you mean upgrade computers, cannot go wrong with a MacBook Pro. I’m very much in love with this one, blazing fast and the display is just gorgeous. Plus the backlit keyboard offers such an elegant feel.

Yup, those have been on my back burner list of upgrades to my mac book. Though resetting the SMC and PRAM significantly quickened my computer recently, which makes it even easier to backburner it.

Right on. Tough computers to beat. Mac products tend to last a long time. Up until last year I was still using my iPhone 4s and 5c lol

Congrats on the new MacBook Pro! I bought mine in 2011. Swapped the hard drive for an SSD then took out the DVD drive and put in the old hard drive in its place a couple years ago. I don’t push it as hard as I did back when I was in school, but it’s still a very capable computer. It’s built like a tank too. I have no plans to replace it for a long time.

Thanks a bunch! The SSD is a super worth while upgrade for sure. This one will get pushed, as it’ll be my daily driver for everyday use and then my race car in terms of being a video editor and what I use to compose my articles.

Aside from the logic board issues in the early 08 models, they’re all amazing. Unfortunately I fell victim to the early 08 logic board issue.

Oh man, blasphemy ha, kidding of course. I am definitely an iPhone guy. Never had much luck with androids. This iPhone 7+ is like a second child to me.

I’ll admit the Galaxy 8 definitely wins with the frameless design. I think it’s the galaxy 8 anyway. Either way the endless screen is quite phenomenal
